Yes, this release is exactly what a band called Grave Violator should sound like. Fast, straightforward evil black death thrash (with one exception), and I mean that in the best possible way. Imagine _Scream Bloody Gore_ and Possessed from now: that's the sonic neighborhood.
It is mixed well, with a great snare drum sound, and the vocals are clean enough to be dirty.
I am glad they got back into the cult because this is several horns up. perverseosmosis

Underrated doesn't even cover this. If you like death metal in any way shape or form, you need Sentient Horror in your lives, this band absolutely blows me away. poisonremedy

Black Arts & Alchemy is the definition of a PERFECT EP! Every single song stands for it's own and could be single releases, if they wanted to be. It's a ripper (pun intended) and shows how absolutely brilliant of a musician and composer James McBain has become. A flawless blend of speed, blackened themes and catchy riffs/choruses. This will remain in my Top 3 favorite EPs of all time and it will be near impossible to dethrone it. poutineslayer
